Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In a heart-wrenching incident, two friends from Kodaliya and Bhogpur Kole locality in the Bhogpur area of the Kolaghat police station, identified as Rupankar Kole and Dibyendu Santhara, lost their lives tragically. Rupankar, the son of an idol maker, had ventured out last night to purchase jewelry for the Mecheda statue.
While returning home via a local train, his mobile headphone accidentally fell onto the railway track near Bhogpur station. The incident occurred near the residence of his friend Dibyendu. Subsequently, Rupankar contacted his classmate and friend Dibyendu to assist in locating the fallen headphone.
Sadly, around 9.30 pm, both ninth-grade students were fatally struck by the Mumbai Gitanjali Express traveling from Howrah to Kharagpur. The bodies have been sent to Tamluk Tamralipta Medical College for post-mortem examination.
